Level 3 First Aid at Work
The course is aligned with the HSE guidelines and meets all suggested recommendations for the workplace.
The content covers everything you need to know for your First Aid at Work qualification.
On completion each learner will receive an online First Aid at Work certificate.
As well as helping you to understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider, the course will cover a number of topics, including how to:
- assess an incident
- provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty
- perform CPR and use an AED
- provide first aid to a casualty who is choking
- provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding
- provide first aid to a casualty who is in shock
- provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries
- conduct a secondary survey
- provide first aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries
- provide first aid to a casualty with suspected injuries to bones, muscles and joints
- provide first aid to a casualty with suspected chest injuries
- provide first aid to a casualty with burns and scalds
- provide first aid to a casualty with an eye injury
- provide first aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning
- provide first aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis
- provide first aid to a casualty with suspected major illness
The Level 3 FAW re-qual course is also available for those currently hold a First Aid at Work qualification which is due to expire.

The qualification is designed for learners with a responsibility for the care of children and babies on a professional level.
The purpose of the qualification is for the learner to attain the knowledge required to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations.
This course is suitable for Early Years, Foundation and Primary stages.
You can also complete the first part of this course to gain the Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid qualification.
As well as helping you to understand the role and responsibilities of a paediatric first aider, the course will cover a number of topics, including how to:
- assess an emergency situation safely
- provide first aid for an infant and a child who is unresponsive and breathing normally
- provide first aid for an infant or a child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally
- provide first aid for an infant or a child who is choking
- provide first aid to an infant or a child with external bleeding
- provide first aid to an infant or a child who is suffering from shock
- administer first aid to an infant and a child with bites, stings and minor injuries
- administer first aid to an infant and a child with a suspected fracture

Family First Aid
We all have that fear of being faced with a daunting situation and not knowing what to do: a young baby choking; a child falling down the stairs; an elderly person suddenly clutching their chest and struggling to breathe.
This 2 hour Family First Aid session will help give you the knowledge and skills to prepare you for that unfortunate occasion.
EDQuals can also deliver home sessions for family and friends.

Our successful “Be The Trainer” course allows you to become your own first aid trainer in order to deliver first aid training in your work place or work setting.
The course involves learning about a range of teaching and assessing methods in order to deliver and assess first aid courses to colleagues.
You will also receive a number of teaching aids, lesson plans, resources and equipment needed to start teaching immediately.
Upon successfully completing the course, you will gain fully certified and accredited qualifications at level 3 in teaching, assessing and first aid.
