A survey of 150 training providers who train 81,000 apprentices between them has found that 80% of apprenticeships are continuing to receive training.
The report indicated he vast majority have successfully executed an almost overnight switch to online learning.
43% said that they are managing to train learners at between 80% to 100% of their pre-pandemic capacity. But what do these numbers actually mean? This blog post explains.
81% of apprentices are still in training, says the report. Though providers have stopped receiving funding for 15%. A further 4% have been made redundant.
The Department for Education (DfE) is currently refusing to comply with Cabinet Office guidance to continue paying private providers in advance of delivery during the coronavirus crisis.
A quarter of providers have put their chances of survival at less than 50%.
Meanwhile a reported 83% of staff had been furloughed so are now unable to support the delivery of training. Many other staff have taken pay cuts.
